- January 10 – A plebiscite referendum is held among the citizens' assemblies to ratify the new Constitution.
- January 15 – Infamous Chinese drug lord Lim Seng faced his public execution by firing squad at a lot behind the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Fort Bonifacio,[1] the country's first and last of its kind in the post-war Philippine history.
- July 21 – Miss Philippines Margarita Moran was crowned Miss Universe 1973.
- July 27-28 – National referendum was held wherein 90.77% of the Citizen Assemblies voted for the ratification of the 1973 Constitution and the continuation of Martial Law.
