The 1987 All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship was the 24th staging of the All-Ireland Under-21 Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1964.
Galway were the defending champions.
Limerick won the championship following a 2-15 to 3-6 defeat of Galway in the All-Ireland final.[1] This was their first All-Ireland title in the under-21 grade.
