1991 Young Critics Circle Awards
The 2nd Young Critics Circle Awards, first announced on 26 January 1992 in Philippine Times Journal, Port Area, Manila, honored the best of Philippine cinema of 1991. In 1991, the Best Director Award was scrapped. The Best Picture award would since be given to the film's director. Per YCC criteria, "the Best Picture citation is awarded to the Director not so much because he or she is the auteur or the central intelligence of the film, but because his or her work lies at the conjuncture which coordinates film-making."
