The 2016–17 MDFA Elite Division is the top-tier football in the Indian city of Mumbai. This is the 104th season of the league. It will be starting from mid week of September 2016. ONGC F.C[1][2] are the defending champions and Mumbai F.C as the runners up. 13 teams will participate in the league. Maharashtra State Police is back again in the Elite Division after gaining promotion from Super division. All the matches are scheduled to be played at Cooperage Football Ground, St. Xaviers Football Ground and Andheri Sports Complex.
