99Acres.com is an Indian real estate database website was bought in 2005.[4] Its parent company is Info Edge (India)[5][6] established by Sanjeev Bikhchandani with its headquarters in Noida, Uttar Pradesh and regional offices in cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai etc.
The website features property listings from builders, dealers and property owners from all Indian cities. The website has several sections.
New Projects
Users can find new and upcoming projects in a particular locality or city. In this section, the user can find three types of properties; newly launched, under-construction and ready-to-move property types.
Price Trends
Website users can compare the prices of a property in different localities of a same city. It provides information about the current price rates and a quarter to quarter analysis of the area.[7][8]
99acres releases its property report Insite. This report highlights the trends across major metropolitan cities of India.
Mobile Apps
In 2011, 99acres launched property search on mobile. Users can browse and search for properties and connect with the advertisers directly through mobile.[9]
The website also have mobile apps for the Android and IOS users in Dec 2013 & Feb 2014 respectively.[10]
Video Campaigns
The website’s first TVC was launched in 2007.[11] Where to find right plot if Taj Mahal was to be built in the modern times- this was the concept of the ad. It was simple concept yet targeted the shortage of land in a humorous way. Conceptualized by ad agency FCB Ulka, the television ad used the famous monument of love, Taj Mahal and Mughal emperor Shah Jahan and his darling wife, Mumtaz Mahal, as chief protagonists.
99acres.com also launched another video campaign in 2014.[12] “Sab Dekh Lijiye, Phir Ghar Lijiye” as a punch line, it means explore all options, before settling for a house. Creative agency JWT conceptualized this video.
Then they launched their first commercial about the 99acres Application in 2014 telling how one can use it "Anytime Anywhere", being their punchline. Creative agency JWT conceptualized this video.
Awards
- In 2012, the website was awarded with the Amity corporate excellence award, ‘web portal of the year’ by accommodation times[13] and ‘most admired real estate website‘ by stars of the industry group.
- 99acres.com also received the Mobile Appies Awards 2015 in the real estate category.[14] The award was announced by GSF India.[15] The “Mobile Appies” Awards were announced in 12 different categories. 4 mobile apps under each category competed for recognition as the best and innovative app.[16] Selection of the winners were decided combining user poll and evaluation by a team of experts.
Funding
In September 2014, Info Edge India Ltd, the parent company of 99acres.com raised Rs 750 crore through a qualified institutional placement (QIP) to expand its real estate classifieds business.[17]
Partnerships
- Puravankara Projects Limited[18] partnered with 99acres to offer online booking services.[19]
- Akshaya Homes Pvt Ltd.[20] joined hands with the real estate portal to launch an online marketing association.[21][22] This is a one-year partnership, as informed by T. Chitty Babu, Chairman and CEO, Akshaya Homes Pvt Ltd.
