APO (formerly known as African Press Organization) is a press release wire distribution service and media relations company based in Switzerland.[1] It offers press release distribution and monitoring, online press conference,[2] webcast, op-ed placement, events promotion, online reputation and media monitoring. Its headquarters is in Dakar,[3] with offices in Senegal, Dubai, Hong Kong, India[4] and Seychelles.
The company owns and manages Africa Wire and MENA Wire, press release distribution services focusing on Africa and the Middle East. Founded in 2007, APO is the sole press release wire in Africa.[5][6]
Content partnerships
APO has content partnerships with Bloomberg,[7] Thomson Reuters, LexisNexis, Dow Jones Factiva,[8] Proquest, Acquire Media, Comtex,[9] and 50 other African websites. APO also provides a feed of Africa-related news releases to 250 million mobile subscribers in 30 countries in Africa.[10]
APO ended its partnership with PR Newswire in October 2012.[7]
