Aftercoma are an Indonesian death metal and hardcore from Bandung. Formed in 2006, the group consists of Wyl Mthrfckr, Ridho Fatwerks Alhadi, Ferry Arliansyah, Dikdik Prasetiadi and Uus Pluto. The band have calling their fanatic fans, are "pemberontak" (or rebels).[1]
History
Formation
The band formed in Bandung on 2006. Originally started as a solo project which played by Ridho Fatwerks, then the project evolved to a live band in 2008. After that, the band has changed formation to became officially of a construction band (or hardcore and metal).
Career
2008–present: Breath and Breathless
Virtual Records signed Aftercoma and began releasing their EP album, titled Breath which making their name had popularity in metal industry music with first single "Berontak". They have chanced to performed on a stage in Bandung and promoted for the EP album.
After three years later, Aftercoma has released debut studio album in full-length version, titled Breathless in 2011. Breathless had produced single entitled "Raga Terbakar" with BIP member Ipang Lazuardi made appointed that the band return to popular in metal music. The album has received positive response from viewers and music critics.
After long vacuum in music industry, Aftercoma return to released the single "Perang" which had winning first award for 2016 Best Metal Production Work category at Anugerah Musik Indonesia.
Musical style
Music and influences
Aftercoma' music generally is hardcore and also enrich their musical traditions with various genre, including heavy metal, punk, rock and death metal. The band has cited Metallica, Pantera, Walls of Jericho, Deftones, As I Lay Dying, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the Sky, and Nine Inch Nails as their influence music.
