Ajit Andhare, born on July 11 is an Indian business leader, entrepreneur, currently Chief Operating Officer at Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

Career

Ajit currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Viacom 18 Motion Pictures (VMP), the motion pictures business of Viacom 18 Media Pvt Ltd, recognised as a leading studio for producing path breaking films. [1][2]

He is known for his vision for content led cinema with a differentiated script garnering critical acclaim and box office success. He broke new ground with feature films like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Queen, Mary Kom, Drishyam & Manjhi. [3][4][5] Films like Queen & Mary Kom led solely by female characters went on to win National awards.[6] He has picked up another female character driven film PhotoCopy, a Marathi romcom of identical twin sisters, slated to be released in 2016.[7]

Early life and education

A Mechanical Engineer from National Institute of Engineering Rourkela & an alumnus of Indian School of Business has worked at HUL & BBLIL, Brooke Bond Lipton, Hindustan Lever & founded Raghav Bhal’s Capital18 funded Colosceum Media[21][22][23]

He is known for producing popular television programs such as MTV Roadies, MTV Splitsvilla, Jai Shri Krishna for Colors, Wheel Smart Shrimati for Unilever and the Master Chef India series for Star India carving out a unique niche in Indian content space.[24][25] [26][27][28][29][30]
