The Alternative Press Music Awards is an annual music awards show in the United States, founded by the music magazine Alternative Press.

History

On April 24, 2014, Alternative Press announced organising an award show which shall be held on July 21, 2014, at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.[1] Mark Hoppus, bassist and vocalist of the pop-punk band Blink-182, hosted the event's debut.[1] The first show was aired live at AXS TV and Idobi Radio nationwide.[1][2]

The first award show featured performances from acts like The Misfits, All Time Low, Sleeping with Sirens, Twenty One Pilots and more. During the first show the artist was awarded in 15 categories. 12 of the categories were given away by the readers of Alternative Press through an online voting.[1]

2015 Announcement

Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat of All Time Low were announced as the hosts of the 2015 AP Music awards.[3]

Rob Zombie, Weezer, Sum 41, and Panic! at the Disco were among the live performers.[4]
