Althepus

In biology, "Althepus" can also be a genus of the Ochyroceratidae family of six-eyed spiders.

Althepus was in Greek mythology a son of the Greek god Poseidon and Leïs, a daughter of Orus, king of Troezen.^[1][2] The territory of Troezen was called "Althepia" after him. In his reign Poseidon and Athena disputed the possession of the country with each other.^[3]

Althepus was the successor of Orus,^[1] and was succeeded by Saron.^[4]
