Alyssa Chia (born October 7, 1974) is a Taiwanese television hostess and actress.[1] She is known for her roles in television series such as Da Han Tian Zi, The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber and Lady Wu: The First Empress.[2][3]
Personal life
Chia's ancestral home is in Tianjin, China.
Chia married Sun Zhihao and gave birth to her first daughter, Angelina, nicknamed Wutong Mei in 2005.[4] They divorced in 2010. They share joint custody of their daughter, while she is the main guardian.[5]
Chia married actor Xiu Jiekai and gave birth to her second daughter in 2015.
Chia is currently pregnant with her third child
Career
Chia dropped out of Beijing Film Academy due to her attachment to her family and an offer from a company in Taiwan. She was then scouted by an agent and entered the entertainment circleand, advertising for The Taste Of Love, a food company. She also worked as the hostess of children's programs.[6]
She subsequently starred in several relatively unknown television series such as Jia Jiafu and The Chicken and the Duck.[7] Her role in the television series Four Princesses gained her much attention, and after Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, she has become a well-established actress.[8] Soon she entered the Chinese mainland entertainment circle and starred in many television series such as Da Han Tian Zi, The Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber and Lady Wu: The First Empress.[9]
In 2012, she posed for a PETA ad campaign, encouraging pet owners to have their dogs and cats spayed or neutered.[10]
Achievements and accolades
- In 1998, she was voted as the second lover of servicemen and the newest beauty on the Internet. Meanwhile, she won Rookie with the most Potential Award and won Taiwan Queensway Award as the best hostess of Children's program.
- In 2001, she was regarded as the 66th one of the one hundred global beauties on the magazine, FHM.
- In 2002, she won the third place on FHM.
- In 2003, she became the first one in Asia, on FHM.
- In 2010, she was the candidate of Chinese Welfare, as the best star for charity.
- In 2011, she was regarded as the artist of annual prevailing custom.
