Commanding the just (Arabic: امر بالمعروف Amr bi l-Ma‘rūf) is a part of Shia Islam's Branches of Religion. It refers to encouraging people to do the necessary good in life even when they have forgotten to do so. For example, when they have forgotten salat.
Etymology
The doctrine is derived from the Qur'anic Enjoin what is good and forbid what is wrong.
