Anel Hadžić (born 16 August 1989) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Hungarian club Videoton FC and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.[1]

Club career

Hadžić spent most of his youth career at Ried, but debuting at senior level for Wels.[2]

After just five games for Wels, he returned to Ried, where he spent the next six seasons.[3]

In 2013, he signed for Sturm Graz.[4]

In January 2016, he was transferred to Turkish club Eskişehirspor for 300,000 €.[5]

International career

Despite representing Austria at youth level, Hadžić confirmed in July 2010 that he would opt to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future.[6][7]

On 5 March 2014 he played his first match for the national team in a friendly match against Egypt at Tivoli-Neu in Innsbruck.[8]

Later that year he was selected for the 23-man squad to play at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.[9]
