Anstey Castle
Anstey Castle was in the village of Anstey, Hertfordshire (grid reference TL404330).
It was a 12th-century stone motte and bailey fortress, founded by Eustace, Count of Boulogne.[1] It was strengthened during the Magna Carta war of 1215–16 by an opponent of King John.[2] Only the mound motte now remains.
