Armando Codina
Armando Codina (c. 1946/7) is a Cuban-American entrepreneur and the Executive Chairman of Codina Partners, LLC, a real estate investment and development firm based in Coral Gables, Florida. Codina formed Codina Partners in 2009 to engage in real estate development and investment activities. The firm's portfolio includes mixed-used projects, commercial buildings and other investments primarily in Florida.
Codina founded the Codina Group in 1979, a South Florida-based commercial real estate firm. In 2006, the firm merged with Flagler Development Group, part of Florida East Coast Industries, Inc. (NYSE: FLA). In July 2007, FECI was sold to Fortress Investment Group.
Bush family
Codina was among the 25 Florida electors for President Bush in the 2000 Presidential Election, and the 27 electors chosen in the 2004 Presidential Election. Codina gave Florida Governor Jeb Bush his first job in Miami in the early 1980s, after acting as the Florida chair of George H. W. Bush's unsuccessful campaign for the Republican Presidential Nomination in 1980.
