Arthur Julian Andrew

Arthur Julian Andrew (born Pictou County, Nova Scotia in 1915-died 1994) is a former Canadian diplomat. He was the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. to Austria and Czechoslovakia and the High Commissioner to Cyprus and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Israel, Sweden and Greece. He was also an author of books about international relations. Joyce Mowbray Sircom married Arthur Andrew in 1940. The couple had two daughters, Stephanie and Victoria. Joyce Andrew was one of the founding members of the External Affairs Wives Association (now the Foreign Service Community Association), a mutual aid group for families in the Foreign Service.

- ↑ Although Canada's Envoy to Austria was resident in Switzerland, at the same time there was a resident Chargé d'Affaires a.i. at the Legation in Austria. This arrangement lasted from 1953 until 1956 when a resident Embassy was established.
