Auckland School Shimla

Auckland House School is a school near Auckland Tunnel in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India.

Auckland House School was started by Lord Auckland, (Governor General) in 1836, for his sisters and his own use. When the Viceroys moved, he sold the house, and it was converted to Auckland House School in 1868 by the school authority.

Mrs. Mackinnon was the first Head and school started with 32 students. The School shifted to Lakkar Bazaar on the 6th of November, 1869.

The school was rated among India's top (A+++) in a survey by Mainline Media.[1]

This school now has two separate wings for boys and girls.The principal of the girls wing is Mrs.Sunita John and the principal for the boys wing is Mr.Miachal A. John.THe school has four houses namely Durrant, French, Lefroy & Matthew.
