Axel Strøby Jacobsen (22 February 1928 – 12 July 2005), known as Axel Strøbye was a Danish stage and film actor. He appeared in more than 100 films between 1951 and 2000.
He was born in Frederiksberg, Denmark and died in Charlottenlund, Denmark. He was married two times. First to actress Lone Hertz from 1962 to 1975 and from 1978 until his death to actress Hanne Borchsenius. Borchsenius died in March 2012. Her death was also caused by cancer, like her late husband.
