History
BASIS Independent Silicon Valley was founded in 2014. With the great successes of BASIS charter schools opened in Arizona, Texas, and Washington D.C., BASIS.ed decided to implement its educational model into a private school, opening two new private schools in San Jose and Brooklyn. The mission of BASIS Independent Schools is to raise the standards of students' learning to the highest international levels.[2]
A new BASIS Independent school for K-8 students in Fremont opened fall 2016. It will directly feed students into BASIS Independent Silicon Valley.[3]
BASIS Independent McLean, serving grades PreK-12, opened fall 2016 in McLean, VA.[4]
BASIS Independent Manhattan is set to open on the Upper West Side in Fall 2017 and will serve grades K-8. It will feed students into BASIS Independent Brooklyn.[5]
