Babymetal concert chronology

The Babymetal World Tour 2014 was a concert tour by Babymetal, which began on July 1, 2014 in Paris, France and ended on January 10, 2015 with a performance in Saitama Super Arena at Saitama, Japan.[1] The Tour was announced on March 2, 2014, at the end of their second Live at Budokan show.[2] The first date was announced on April 6 for Sonisphere Festival on June 6. The date was later changed to June 5, as they upgraded from Bohemia Stage to Apollo Main Stage. More dates was announced on May 7 for France, Germany, England and Japan. The shows in Paris, France and Cologne, Germany also served as the 15th birthday celebrations for Yuimetal and Moametal respectively. On April 20, it was announced that the venue for their London show on July 7 would be upgraded from Electric Ballroom to The Forum, because the tickets sold out so fast. On May 24, Babymetal announced that they would play at Heavy MONTRÉAL, Canada on August 9, and at Summer Sonic Festival, Japan on August 16–17. On June 1, an additional date for the United States was revealed.[3]

After their performance at Summer Sonic in Chiba on August 16, they announced the Babymetal Back to the USA / UK Tour 2014 for November 2014. Two days later, the UK performance was revealed to be held in O2 Academy Brixton, London on November 8. On September 2 it was announced that the USA concert was to be held in Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City on November 4.[3] On September 13th, Babymetal announced their last show of the tour to be held at Saitama Super Arena, Japan on January 10, 2015.[4]

During this tour, Babymetal participated as supporting act in 5 concerts on Lady Gaga's ArtRave: The Artpop Ball tour between July 30 to August 6.[3]

Broadcast and recording

On August 30, it was announced that the concert in The Forum on July 7 would be broadcast live and delayed to Japan and Taiwan.[3] A live video album of the tour titled Live in London: Babymetal World Tour 2014 was released in Japan on May 20, 2015, and in Europe on October 30, 2015.[5][6][7]

WOWOW broadcast the Babymetal Legend “2015” New Year Fox Festival from Saitama Super Arena in Japan in March 2015.[8]
