Bahamas International Film Festival

The Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) is a non-profit organized film festival that presents a diverse set of films from around the world to the local Bahamian community and international visitors. The 13th edition of the festival will be held in December 2016.[1]

Bahamas International Film Festival has branded itself as one of the most important destinations of people associated with the film industry and "an important stop on the international film festival circuit".[2]

Some sources claim that information on Bahamian cinema is not generally available.[3]:262

BIFF also organizes a youth film workshop that aims at providing young Bahamians access to resources on filmmaking.[4]

The BIFF held in 2015 showed several female-driven films, such as Carol and Janis: Little Girl Blue of international acclaim.[5]

BIFF was listed among the 25 coolest film festivals in the world by moviemaker.com.[6]

In 2016, BIFF is scheduled to be held between December 8 and 11 in Nassau, Bahamas.[7]
