Bahirawakanda is a village in the centre of the Kandy , Sri Lanka.It is one of the most tourist attracting place in the city.The Bahirawakanda is well known for the Sri Maha Bodhi Vihara which was started in 1972, by ven. ampitiye Dammarama Thero, and was opened to the public on the 1st of January 1993, by his Excellency President Premadasa.[1]
