The Balochistan leopard (Panthera pardus sindica) was proposed as a leopard subspecies native to Balochistan. Reginald Innes Pocock described it in 1930 on the basis of a single skin and two skulls from the Kirthar Mountains. He admitted that the skin closely resembled those of P. p. saxicolor, but is distinguishable from the typical P. p. fusca in colour.[1] Based on genetic analysis, it was subsumed to P. p. saxicolor.[2][3] It is considered synonymous with this subspecies.[4]
