The Baltimore Blues were an American rugby league football team based in Baltimore, Maryland. They competed in the USA Rugby League from 2012 to 2014.
History
The club was formed by Joe Pontak in 2012, who was inspired to create the club after his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. His inspiration to form the Baltimore Blues as a rugby league club is based on the values of family, honor, heart and friendship.[1][2] They played in the USA Rugby League for three years, but struggled on and off the field. In 2015, the USARL announced that the Blues were unsuccessful in their bid to remain in the league for the 2015 season, but may continue in a second-grade competition.[3]
