Banauli Donauli is a village development committee in Mahottari District in the Janakpur Zone of south-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 3966 people living in 711 individual households.[1] It is very near Thakurpati and Jankpurdham city

Here the major inhabitants are brahmin. Mainly Thakur brahmin there is one society in this village called thakurpati.
Religion
The birth place of Vidyapati is in the centre of this village. Vidyapati is popular, because it is believed that 500 years ago Lord Shiva came and stayed with him as a servant. There are many songs in Maithili related to this
This village contains beautiful temples like Ma Kali mandir, Ma Durga mandir and Bajrangbali mandir. Every year thakurs of this village workship in ma Kali mandir after deepawali festival Banauli has divided mainly in 08 wards ,among 08 wards ward no 07 is most important
