Sports
The Banting Marauders Cross Country Team was notably the most dominant Senior Boys team in the GBSSA region of OFSAA, winning the Team title four years in a row (2006–2009) [1][2][3][4] During the 2006 season, the senior boys team became the first Banting Cross Country team to claim the GBSSA title in the school's 55-year history. There is a tradition where legendary runners get the opportunity to sign a pair of vintage maroon running shorts to cement their place in Banting cross country history. Only a select few runners have ever had this special honour. In 2008 they had their best season finishing 7th at OFSAA
The Banting Tennis team has had one of its longest and best runs in the school's history. Capped off on June 1, 2016 with grade 12 student Rebecca Herrington winning the Girls Open Division Gold Medal at OFSSA to become the top female High School player in the Province. She also went undefeated over 4 years at the Georgian Bay Regional s amassing a record of 24 wins and no losses. Other key players that helped put Banting on the tennis radar were Heather Borsos, now a College player in the US and her brother Kevin Borsos. They formed a formidable mixed doubles team and placed 3rd in the Province in 2014.
