Varvara Alexandrovna "Bar" Paly (Hebrew: בר פאלי, Russian: Бар Александровна Пали; born April 29, 1985[4]) is a Russian-born Israeli-American model and actress.
Life and career
Paly was born in Nizhny Tagil, Russian SFSR, USSR. She moved to Israel when she was seven,[5] and was raised in Tel Aviv.[6] Paly began a career in modeling at the age of 17. In 2003, she began her career as an actress appearing in a variety of roles for television and appeared in the first Israeli mockumentary Big Tuna.[7] Paly has appeared in TV’s How I Met Your Mother, The Starter Wife, and the 2008 horror film The Ruins.[8]
In 2013, Paly held roles in both Roman Coppola’s A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III starring Charlie Sheen, Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray, and Michael Bay’s Pain & Gain, alongside Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson.[9]
Paly is Jewish.[10] She is married to Canadian director Ian Kessner.[10][11]
Since 2015, Paly has had a recurring role as Anastasia "Anna" Kolcheck on the American crime drama NCIS: Los Angeles.
On August 14, 2016, Paly became a U.S. citizen.[12]
