History
Barbados competed in its first Davis Cup in 1990. Barbadian players previously competed on the Caribbean/West Indies team.
Since 1990, when they debuted in Group II of the Americas Zone (the lowest tier at that time), Barbados had never advanced any further than Group II. In 2014, they upset Mexico to advance to Group I of the Americas Zone for the first time in their history, where they competed in 2015. That year, they defeated Uruguay in the relegation match to remain in Group I for 2016.
