The Battle of Suvodol was fought near Sjenica between the Serbian rebels under Karađorđe and Ottoman army consisting of Albanians under Numan Pasha in late May 1809, during the First Serbian Uprising. It resulted in a Serbian victory.

In spring 1809, during the Russo-Turkish War (1806–12),[1] the Serbs took up arms once again, now directing attacks on Serb-inhabited territories outwards of the former Sanjak of Smederevo.[1] One Serb army crossed the Drina into Bosnia, another was to join up with the Serbs of Montenegro, marching southwest, seeking to cut the connections between Bosnia and Istanbul, a third struck southwards of Nis, a fourth went towards the Danube to join the Russian troops.[1] The Serb army advanced successfully through Bosnia and rallied the population, while Karađorđe's troops crossed the Javor range towards the Lim river.[1]

Karađorđe's troops fought a violent battle against Numan Pasha of Peć,[2] succeeding in making connection with Montenegro.[1]
