Bellevue, French Guiana
Bellevue is a village in the commune of Iracoubo, French Guiana.
Overview
It is an Amerindian village on Route nationale 1, eight kilometres past Iracoubo,[1] on the way to Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. The population is under 1000. There are a couple of shops, but no accommodation. All children go to school at the primary school in Iracoubo.
Kali'nas (also known as Galibis) are still living in Bellevue[2] and maintain some of their traditions (fishing, danses).[3]
