Indonesia Malam (TVRI news program)
Indonesia Malam is a daily news and weather program broadcast on TVRI in Indonesia from 19:00 until 20:00 WIB. During the New Order era from 13 November 1988 until 23 August 2000, it was known as 'Berita Nasional'. At that time, all private commercial free-to-air terrestrial television stations (RCTI, SCTV, TPI, ANteve and Indosiar) were required to relay the news program, as well as its sister news programmes, Dunia Dalam Berita and the late news, Berita Akhir. Previously, it lasted about 10 minutes by the news was filled with national sports news and national weather forecast. Also during the New Order era, sometimes the news continued with the Pidato Presiden Republik Indonesia at 19:30 until 20:00 WIB which also must be relayed. Since the disbanded of Indonesian Ministry of Information the rule was abolished due to press freedom be ended on 24 August 2000.
The news now lasts for an hour, with all the national and international news being covered on this programme, with live regional news bulletins across the country, sports and national weather.
