Bhupender Yadav (born 30 June 1969 in Ajmer, Rajasthan) is an Indian Politician. He belongs to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and is currently a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. He represents the state of Rajasthan in the Upper House since April 2012. He is also the National General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party and is the Prabhari (Incharge) of Bihar State and Election management department of BJP. He is an eloquent orator and has good command over many languages. He has authored a book titled ‘Supreme Court on Forest Conservation’ that highlights the need for environmental protection and has also contributed several articles on burning issues in national news papers. A lawyer by profession, he also practices at the Supreme Court of India.
Early life and career
He completed his schooling from St Pauls School, Ajmer, Rajasthan and graduated from Government College in Political Science B.A (H) and further did Bachelor of Law from the same College. A bright and popular student among his peers he was a vivid debater who represented his college at various levels. He also served as a NSS volunteer & participated in 1992 Republic Day Parade. He was elected as Vice President of the Students Union at Government College, Ajmer. He was associated with Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) since early student life. He actively participated in different political issues and joined Trade Union Activities in Gurgaon, Haryana in early 1990’s.
In 2000, he was appointed as National General Secretary of Akhil Bhartiya Adivakta Parishad (All India Lawyer Organization) successfully carried out this responsibility till 2009. He was appointed as National Secretary of Bhartiya Janta Party in 2010 by Shri Nitin Gadkari. In 2013, Shri Rajnath Singh, who became the National president BJP, appointed him as a National Secretary of BJP. In August 2014, he was appointed as National General Secretary of Bharitya Janta Party by Shri Amit Shah, President of BJP.
He successfully held the charge of Rajasthan state assembly election and Lok Sabha elections, when he was handed responsibility of Rajasthan state. He was Co-incharge of Jharkhand state assembly election in 2014.
He has headed many Parliamentary Committees and is also a member of many Select Committees.

Legal career
He was counsel for Government of India before Liberhan Commission; He also appeared as a lead lawyer before Wadhwa commission. He has been closely associated with Shri Ram Setu case and various important PIL matters in Supreme Court. He is associated with various International bar Associations & Commonwealth Bar Association.
Other achievements
His book on Environmental conservation was published in 2005 titled ‘Supreme court on Forest Conservation’. He has written various articles on social & political issues which have appeared in national and international media publications. He played a prominent role for many years in managing ‘Nyay Pravah’ the publication wing of Akhil bharitaya Adhiwakta Parishad.
Personal life
He got married in 1996 with Babita Yadav, who is also a practicing lawyer in Supreme Court of India. They have two daughters Pragya and Shubha. He has travelled widely in India and abroad. The countries he has visited in different capacities include Cambodia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Brunei, UAE and Germany.
