Blue Whale Harbour

Blue Whale Harbour (54°4′S 37°1′W / 54.067°S 37.017°W / -54.067; -37.017Coordinates: 54°4′S 37°1′W / 54.067°S 37.017°W / -54.067; -37.017) is a small, sheltered anchorage entered 1 nautical mile (2 km) west-southwest of Cape Constance, along the north coast of South Georgia. It was charted in 1930 by Discovery Investigations personnel. The blue whale is a commercially important species which is widely distributed in polar and subpolar waters; numbers are now very small.[1]
