Bluethumb Art Gallery

Bluethumb is a leading online art marketplace based in Australia.[1] Started in 2011,[2] Bluethumb now exhibits over 1000 emerging and established Australian artists’ work,[3] including 2015 Archibald Prize finalist Kim Leutwyler.[4] In November 2015, Bluethumb represented Australia at the Creative Business Cup in Copenhagen after winning QUT Creative Enterprise Australia’s Creative3 Pitch.[5]

Pop Up Galleries and Events

Bluethumb have held a number of pop up galleries and events. At the 2013 South Australia Living Artists Festival (SALA Festival) Bluethumb hosted a quirky pop-up gallery by hanging art from Hills Hoist clothes lines. [6] In 2014, as part of Adelaide Fringe Festival's Waymouth Street Party, urban indigenous artist Coby Edgar painted the Bluethumb ute.[7] In 2015, Bluethumb held pop-up galleries at the SALA Festival[8] and for the first time in Melbourne as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.[9]

Bluethumb - art unearthed app

In November 2013 Bluethumb released the Bluethumb - art unearthed app for IOS and Android. It is the first Australian art app to allow visual artists to sell their artwork directly through an app and won Best Shopping App in the Australian Mobile & App Design Awards 2014.[10]
