Bodas de odio (English title:Weddings of hate) is a Mexican telenovela produced by Ernesto Alonso for Televisa in 1983.[1] Its original story of Caridad Bravo Adams, adapted by María Zarattini and directed by José Rendón.

Christian Bach, Miguel Palmer and Frank Moro starred as protagonists, while Rosario Gálvez, María Montaño, Antonio Medellín and Rafael Sánchez Navarro starred as main antagonists.

Plot

Magdalena Mendoza (Christian Bach) is a young woman who is in love with José Luis (Frank Moro), a humble soldier, but is forced by Paula, her mother, to marry Alejandro Almonte (Michael Palmer), a man wealthy, to save the ruin of the family, consisting of his father, General Ivan Mendoza (Carlos Riquelme), and his brother Dimitrio (Rafael Sánchez Navarro).

Alejandro, meanwhile, is the illegitimate son of a rich man, who recognized him shortly before his death, and reaches Puebla to see the paper mill inherited him. When Alejandro finds out about this, and thinking that Magdalena agreed, decides to make life impossible, especially when he knew she was in love with Jose Luis, so he had the soldier sent to prison. After he marries Magdalena and José Luis Alejandro escapes from prison and goes to the mansion of the Mendoza family after the wedding.

Magdalena asks to go with him, but Alejandro learns and takes Magdalena to his ranch, Rosario, who is the true mother of Alejandro; María, the daughter of the foreman, who loves Alejandro and his friends Cipriano and Victor. Alejandro has liberal ideas and movement supporting the rebels against the regime of Porfirio Díaz. José Luis began working as a foreman on the ranch. He married Angélica, who has an incurable disease, but in his heart he has always loved Magdalena.

But she loves Alejandro now. When Alejandro learns the truth about the new foreman, Magdalena is pregnant but Alejandro he does not believe that his son and he leaves. Finally, during the revolution, Alejandro is captured by government troops, but José Luis saves the expense of sacrificing for the love of Magdalena.
