"Born Slippy" is a single by British electronic group Underworld. It was originally released in January 1995 as a single, and has never appeared on an album by the group. The track is instrumental and features no lyrics. It is often confused with the more popular vocal track, "Born Slippy .NUXX", because of the similar name. However, they are completely different in composition and sound.
The single peaked on the UK Singles Chart in 1995 at number 52.[1] The song title comes from the name of a greyhound that the band had bet on and won.[2]
Due to the obscurity of this song, it would not see reissue in any format until 2015, with the four disc Super Deluxe reissue of Underworld's 1995 album Second Toughest in the Infants (where it was listed as "Born Slippy (original instrumental version)"). The ".TEL EMATIC" version remains exclusive to this single.

Notes
- "Born Slippy" is sometimes given the label (original) or (instrumental) to distinguish it from its much more popular b side, "Born Slippy .NUXX", which features vocals by Karl Hyde.
- The song was going to be the boss music for Rez, until Underworld denied its use in the game.
- It features in the final episode of Time Trumpet, in an section showing footage from the (fictional) television series My Name is Phil.
- In February 1998, the song was featured in an episode of Top Gear, in which scenes of the BMW 328i is being driven, with an voice over by presenter Jeremy Clarkson.
- On the second 12", the title is first written ".TEL EMATIC" in large print, but then ".TELEMATIC" in smaller print, suggesting the space in .TEL EMATIC is just a design quirk.
- The information on the front cover of CD, "jbo29cds", incorrectly gives the wrong order of the music tracks, as shown above. It should list "Born Slippy .NUXX" as the first track on the CD, followed by Born Slippy and Born Slippy .TEL EMATIC.
