Clean energy unmanned helicopter
Clean energy unmanned helicopter is a derivative of U8E and it is a Chinese UAV developed to explore the application of clean energy for unmanned helicopters, and thus the most commonly referred name is Clean Energy Helicopter (Qing-Jie Neng-Yuan Zhi-Sheng-Ji, 清洁能源直升机). Like U8E it is developed from, it is also in conventional layout with a pair of skids as landing gear.[4]The unmanned helicopter is powered by high power lithium-ion batteries with a direct current servomotor as a drive. Because it is electrically powered, it is also frequently referred to as Clean Energy Electrically Powered Helicopter (Qing-Jie Neng-Yuan Dian Qu-Dong Zhi-Sheng-Ji, 清洁能源电驱动直升机)[5] Other features of the unmanned helicopter includes a low-noise rotor, and the maiden flight is scheduled to take place in 2014. The existence of this clean energy unmanned helicopter is revealed to the general public in September 2013 during the 2nd Helicopter China Expo.[6]
