Carita Järvinen
Carita Järvinen (born 20 May 1943, Sipoo [1]), is a Finnish-born retired fashion model. She has also acted in three films with the stage name Carita.
Carita Järvinen started her modeling career in Finland during the late 1950s. In the 1960s she moved to Paris and started modeling for top designers like Coco Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld.[2] Järvinen made her film debut in 1962 on a French Lemmy Caution movie Ladies' Man (Lemmy pour les dames).[3]
1967 she had a major role in Hammer film The Viking Queen. Järvinen received good reviews on her part as Queen Salina, but never continued her acting career.[4] In 2010, Järvinen said in an interview that, after The Viking Queen, she had rejected two roles in James Bond films.
Carita Järvinen still lives in Paris. She also owns a farmhouse in Järvsö, Sweden.[5]
