Biography
Gonzalez Gutierrez has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Foreign Relations from El Colegio de Mexico and a Masters degree in Foreign Relations by the University of Southern California.
In Mexican Foreign Service, he has been posted to:[1]
- Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles, as Consul for Community Affairs (1989-1995)
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico. as Director of Community Affairs of the Program for the Mexican Communities Abroad (1995-1999).
- Embassy of Mexico in Washington, D. C., as Counselor for Hispanic Affairs (1999-2003).
- Institute for Mexicans Abroad, as Executive Director (2003-2009)
As a scholar, he is the author of several publications about the relations between the governments of Mexico and the United States.
