Castlewood is a former census-designated place (CDP) in southern Arapahoe County, Colorado, United States. The population was 25,567 at the 2000 census.[1] It has been a part of the city of Centennial since the city's incorporation in 2001.

Castlewood is located at 39°35′9″N 104°54′16″W / 39.58583°N 104.90444°W (39.585938, -104.904539).[2]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP had a total area of 6.2 square miles (16 km2), all land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 25,567 people, 9,770 households, and 7,141 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 4,158.0 inhabitants per square mile (1,605.1/km²). There were 10,006 housing units at an average density of 1,627.3 per square mile (628.2/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 93.76% White, 1.07% African American, 0.23% Native American, 2.80% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.84% from other races, and 1.28% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.29% of the population.
There were 9,770 households out of which 38.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.4% were married couples living together, 8.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.9% were non-families. 21.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 3.07.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 28.0% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 30.4% from 45 to 64, and 7.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 96.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.6 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $80,983, and the median income for a family was $91,414. Males had a median income of $66,250 versus $40,200 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $37,891. About 1.7% of families and 2.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 2.0% of those under age 18 and 2.7% of those age 65 or over.
