Christopher William Smith (born July 18, 1957 in Torrance, California) is a former Major League Baseball infielder who played for the Montreal Expos (1981–1982) and the San Francisco Giants (1983). Chris was drafted in the 11th round in 1978 by the Expos. He played his first game on May 14, 1981 and his final game on October 2, 1983. He finished with less than stellar stats of 1 home run, 22 hits, 11 RBIs, and a .289 career batting average.
After his major league playing career, he played two seasons for the Yakult Swallows in 1984 and 1985, and managed the Class A Salem Angels in 1987.
