Christinna Pedersen (born May 12, 1986) is an internationally elite badminton player from Aalborg, Denmark.[1]
Career
Pedersen is a right-handed doubles specialist who has gained the most success in mixed doubles. Pairing with Joachim Fischer Nielsen, she reached the semifinals of the 2009 Hyderabad World Championships and earned the bronze medal. They had less success at the following world championships, but have continued to achieve strong results on the BWF Super Series circuit. They have also won the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2014 World Championships, on home soil in Copenhagen.[2][3]
In women's doubles, Pedersen has paired with Kamilla Rytter Juhl, although both athletes focus on competing with their respective partners in mixed doubles. They won the silver medal at the 2015 World Championships, and a bronze medal in 2013 Guangzhou World Championship.
She won the silver medal in women doubles at the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2016 Japan Open Super Series with Kamilla Rytter Juhl and the mixed doubles title at the 2016 Denmark Open Super Series Premier with Joachim Fischer Nielsen. She lives in Copenhagen, where she trains with the national team.
