Clay is a 2008 British TV film drama directed by Andrew Gunn and starring Harry McEntire (Davie) and Ben Davies (Stephen Rose).
The screenplay by Peter Tabern is based on the 1998 novel of the same name by David Almond.
Plot
1960, English provincial town. Impressionable Davie meets mysterious Stephen Rose, who lives in the house of his Aunt Mary Doonan, over whom he exercises a hypnotic control. Stephen Rose is committed to create from scrap materials - wood and clay - sculpture, which are made so realistically that they look almost lifelike. Stephen and Davie decide to revive the statuettes.
