Corran (barony)

Corran (An Corán) is a barony in south Co. Sligo. It corresponds to the ancient túath of Corann.

History

The Corann is a barony in County Sligo in the province of Connacht, Ireland.[1]

Francis Taaffe, 3rd Earl of Carlingford and 4th Viscount Taaffe of Corran was born in Ballymote in 1639.
