Craig W. Chenery is a British born award winning author and screenwriter, with a particular interest in the zombie, horror, comedy, pop culture, Star Wars and special effects genres. Chenery is also a songwriter, improvisor and voice-over actor.

Craig W. Chenery is the author of the critically and commercially acclaimed award winning "Blood Splatter: A Guide to Cinematic Zombie Violence, Gore and Special Effects".[1] Blood Splatter is an in depth look at how the zombie genre has been defined by gore and special effects. Over two years of research, Chenery interviewed dozens of seasoned genre professionals, including Greg Nicotero, Tom Savini, John Russo and Lloyd Kaufman of Troma Entertainment. Since its release, Blood Splatter has placed in Amazon.com's top 100 horror books on many occasions. Chenery is currently working on his first full length novel, "Don't Make Me Come Down There".

Chenery is the co-author of the "Butch G. Cat" series of children's novels children's book series. The first two books in the series were released in late 2012 and book three was released September 2013. The brand was officially launched at the 2012 Orange County Children's Book Festival in Orange County, California to massive sales. Additional books were planned before the series was canceled due to personnel issues outside of his control.

In 2014, Chenery released "The Comicon and Convention Survival Guide".

Chenery has also contributed stories and articles to numerous horror and Steampunk anthologies.

Chenery is also a member of The Gentleman's Club Comedy Improv troupe.[2] The troupe is Arizona's only long form three man monoscene Improv Troupe and were nominated for Arizona's Best Comedy or Improv Troupe two years running.

Convention Appearances

Chenery is a noted zombie film specialist and has been invited to make appearances and speak at numerous conventions on the subject. In 2012, Chenery was invited to present at the 2012 Phoenix Comicon on the evolution of special effects in zombie cinema. In 2012, Phoenix Comicon attracted over 32,000 attendees. He was also a guest at the Rapture Horror Expo in October 2012 and 2013.

In 2013, Phoenix Comicon invited Chenery back to present new panels to packed rooms, including A Visual History of Zombie Cinema and a ten-year retrospect of cult classic, Shaun of the Dead.[3] Chenery was also a guest judge at the Zombie Beauty Pageant. Chenery returned to Phoenix Comicon in 2015 for the fourth consecutive year.

In September 2014, Chenery will appear Central Coast Comicon in Ventura, CA. He was also announced as a guest at Phoenix FearCon VI in November.

Film

In July, 2014 Chenery was interviewed for the Friday the 13th Part 3 In Memoriam / Documentary Project due for release in October, 2014.

Charity

Chenery is an active proponent of anti-bullying and children's charities and in 2014, joined the 501st Legion, the world's premiere Star Wars costuming group allowing Chenery to expand on his charity work and contributions.
