Doc NYC is a documentary film festival in New York City. Co-founded by Thom Powers and his wife Raphaela Neihausen, the festival is the country's largest documentary film festival with over 130 films and events and over 100 special guests. The festival takes place in November. 2014 marked the 5th anniversary of the festival.[1][2][3]
The festival takes place at three primary theaters in New York City, the IFC Center, Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas and the SVA Theater[4] and features documentary screenings as well as educational panels for filmmakers.
In 2015, Doc NYC welcomed presidential nominee candidate Hillary Clinton for a special appearance at the festival's closing night presentation of Once and For All, and film that explored women's rights. [5]
