Brigadier Daniel Francis McDaniel DSC, AM, DSM is a senior officer in the Australian Army. He served as the acting Special Operations Commander from September 2013 to December 2014, after Major General Angus Campbell was promoted and reassigned.

Service history

McDaniel entered the Royal Military College, Duntroon in 1988. He graduated into the Royal Australian Infantry Corps in 1989 and served initially in the 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment.

McDaniel assumed command of the Special Air Service Regiment from 2007 to 2008.
