Darshana, Chuadanga

Darshana (Bengali: দর্শনা) is a small industrial township at the southwest region of Khulna division in Bangladesh.[1]

Location

It is situated Damurhuda Upazila in the Chuadanga District.It shares domestic borders with the Howli Union on the northweast, Begampur Union on the north & east, Kuralgachhi Union on the west. On its southwest lies the Nadia District (in the state of West Bengal in India).

Area

It is an area only 15.44 km2² but population is approximately forty thousand. Carew & Company Bangladesh ltd is biggest sugar mill in Bangladesh. It was established in the Pakistan period.In the Darshana having a land port with India, and also considered the 1st entrance point for Trains to Calcutta, India. Darshana to Jagotee, Kushtia rail line is the first rail road in East Bengal. Darshana station came up with the Eastern Bengal Railway opening the line from Calcutta to Goalundo Ghat, in 1871.

Institutions

Darshana is the one of the best municipal corporation in Bangladesh under the sub-districts level in Bangladesh. There are 4 libraries, 1 College, 4 High schools & 11 primary schools. In this also have a few no of hospital for a large no of people.[2][3][4][5]
