Characteristics
A concept was unveiled at 2014 Auto Expo[1] and a production model was unveiled on 14 April 2016. The car uses the same platform as the previously-launched Renault Kwid, the Renault-Nissan Common Module Family (CMF-A), with the same powertrain,[2] a 0.8-litre petrol engine with a 54 hp (40 kW) power output and 72 N·m (53 lb·ft) torque,[3] coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission. The redi-Go is cheaper, lighter, shorter, and has a larger ground clearance (185 millimetres) than the Kwid.[4] Bookings were open for Rs. 5000 at Datsun dealerships.[2]
