Dave Brown (columnist)
Dave Brown is a columnist with the Ottawa Citizen. He retired in August 2003, after a 38-year career of writing daily columns about Canada's capital. He wrote more than 10,000 columns. He continues to write a once-a-week column in the Citizen on Mondays.
He had written about questionable ethics the professions, the excesses of the child protection system, zero tolerance and the horrors of war through the eyes of veterans.
Brown wrote 10,000 daily Column. Much, his output over the years passes the 7.5 million word mark. He won a National Newspaper Award for "best column" in 1992 and has won awards from Canadian Legion Dominion Command, and Veterans Affairs Canada. His most recent book, Best of Brown - Window on Ottawa, was published in 2003. [1]
Early life
Brown was born in North Bay, Ontario and raised on Manitoulin Island.[2]
